Testimonial Tuesday! Sold by Your Realtor Bryon Howard at McKenzie Towne

Tuesday, April 28th, 2020

Every Tuesday, we show our appreciation to our clients’ feedback by showcasing their testimonies. #TestimonialTuesday helps us improve our ability to serve our clients better.

This weeks #TestimonialTuesday is from M.B:

“I recently worked with Bryon and it was a pleasure working with him. Bryon quickly met me at a property I was interested in buying. While we did not decide on that listing, he showed me some others and we finally decided on one that would meet my needs. After completing a comparative market analysis, and considering COVID-19 and the real estate market, we made an offer that was accepted. It was not a new home, and did have a few issues around the property inspection. We got a few further concessions, and I look forward to moving soon! All around, a great experience buying my first home!”

It’s Earth Day. Actually, it’s the day after Earth Day.

Thursday, April 23rd, 2020

It’s Earth Day. Actually, it’s the day after Earth Day. We just celebrated our 50th Earth Day.  Have you noticed? Is Earth Day something you notice? Has there been a time when you noticed it more than other times? Is it a day that you would like to notice more? If so, what would your ideal Earth Day look like?

As far as I remember, I first became aware of Earth Day (every April 22 since 1970) a year or two prior to my daughter Robin being born in 1994. Shirley and I were living in a van, between climbing, skiing and kayaking adventures in the Pacific Northwest, mostly British Columbia.

About that time, I remember going to a public meeting, a debate or a protest, in Vancouver to discuss Open Pit mining of the Tatshenshini.  I remember standing up at the meeting and declaring that I never planned to own such things as VCR’s, Fax Machines and a Television.

A few years later, we would ‘mark’ (or celebrate) each Earth Day. Normally, it would be a family hike & picnic in and around Prince Edward Island National Park.

Embarrassingly, yesterday, the first time I left the house was nearly 5pm, as I drove to a listing appointment. Later, we did a family walk, and noted the beautiful sky.

My ideal Earth Day would have me on a blanket, in a meadow, enjoying a picnic with family and friends.

Next year.

This is part of a series of pieces, written in about twelve minutes, proof read once with tiny edits and then posted online.

Someday, probably not, I may publish a book entitled: Bryon Wrote This Book in 12 Minutes.
